ABOUT THE PRINCE
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi
His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, was born in Ajman on March 31, 1969. His spouse, Sheikha Asmaa bint Saqr Al Qasimi, the daughter of the former Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Together, they have several children: Humaid, Rashid, Saqr, Ahmed, Mohammed, Amna, and Meera.
He attended government schools in Ajman, such as Ibn Al Haitham School and Rashidiya Secondary School. After completing his secondary education, he enrolled in the inaugural batch of the Police College, where he achieved first place in shooting and equestrianism. Upon graduation, he traveled to the UK to pursue advanced courses in policing and security.
Upon his return, he was appointed Crown Prince of Ajman. Since 2003, he has presided over the Executive Council, overseeing all government departments and institutions in Ajman. As Crown Prince, he works closely with his father to oversee all projects and initiatives in the emirate.
He leads several councils and institutions, most notably the Hamid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charitable Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, and the Board of Directors of Ajman Bank. He played a pivotal role in several notable projects and contributed significantly to numerous initiatives that were essential for the emirate's progress and prosperity. He consistently encourages directors to innovate and improve their work and services.
Initiatives and Visions:
- Leading the Ajman Program for Excellent Government Performance, which significantly enhances public services.
- Initiating a humanitarian project to establish a fund for treating Ajman citizens abroad and monitoring their health conditions.
- Overseeing projects such as providing iftar meals during Ramadan, clothing orphans, supporting needy students to continue their studies, and maintaining homes for disadvantaged citizens.
- Supporting youth involvement in the private sector and issuing the "Bidayat" license for business activities to members of the Ajman Businesswomen Council, enabling women to work from home without needing commercial premises.
- Organizing group weddings for young citizens.
- Revamping Ramadan in Ajman through spiritual events such as Quran memorization competitions, hosting scholars and Quran reciters from across the Arab world, religious lectures, as well as sports, cultural, and Ramadan council events.
- Prioritizing social initiatives, including rehabilitating Emirati youth struggling with drug addiction, aiming to reintegrate them into society and fortify community cohesion.
- Attending university graduations in Ajman and the University of the UAE annually to inspire and celebrate students.
- Demonstrating a strong passion for horseback riding and owning the Ajman Stud for purebred Arabian horses. Annually sponsoring the Arabian Horse Beauty Championship in Ajman and having received numerous sports awards.
