Sheikh Humaid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, Member of the Executive Council and Leader of the Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme, announced the launch of the Programme's executive phase, marking the commencement of its institutional implementation across government entities. The step enhances the readiness of the Ajman Government to harness artificial intelligence technologies within an integrated institutional system grounded in governance, enablement, capacity building, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
The executive phase follows the completion of the Programme's foundational stages and the adoption of its institutional model and first-phase requirements, culminating in the completion of the first regulatory package. The package comprises the formation of the Enablement and Governance Committees and the organization of the Executive Team; the announcement of the Programme's launch; and the issuance of the executive orders regulating the commencement of work and setting the applicable timelines, in addition to the inventory of existing artificial intelligence (AI) use cases across government entities. Together, these establish a unified institutional framework for implementing the Programme across the Ajman Government.
Sheikh Humaid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi affirmed that the start of the executive phase represents an important step toward translating the Programme's targets into practical applications that support the development of government performance, elevate the quality of services, and strengthen the Ajman Government's readiness for the future.
He said: “The new phase focuses on the institutional application of AI and on translating technical capabilities into tangible impact on developing government performance, elevating the quality of services, and enhancing the readiness of the Ajman Government for the future, through an integrated system founded on governance, enablement, and capacity building, with integration and coordination across government entities. We have begun implementing this phase within a clear regulatory framework that defines roles and responsibilities and provides the foundations required for applying AI in a sustainable and secure manner that delivers genuine value to government entities and to society.”
The executive phase begins with activating the work of the Enablement and Governance Committees and the Executive Team, naming the Programme's coordinators within government entities, conducting a comprehensive inventory of current AI use cases, and preparing the Programme's unified operational framework. The framework will define the mechanisms for approving initiatives, the risk levels, and the approved templates, while reinforcing the integration of roles among government entities and supporting the development of initiatives in line with best practices.
The Programme also aims to build a comprehensive institutional picture of current AI use across the Ajman Government, contributing to the standardization of practices, the strengthening of knowledge and expertise exchange, and greater efficiency in adopting AI applications. This proceeds from the Programme's philosophy of building institutional capabilities, empowering government entities, and embedding the responsible and trustworthy use of AI.
The Programme embodies the Ajman Government's direction toward building a government model that is better prepared for the future, anchored in innovation and the responsible use of AI, in a manner that contributes to achieving the targets of Ajman Vision 2030 and enhances the Emirate's competitiveness and leadership in adopting smart government solutions. The Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme targets the launch of 100 initiatives covering the eight pillars of Ajman Vision 2030, strengthening the readiness of the government of the future, improving quality of life, and supporting the Emirate's competitiveness and the sustainable development of its services.
