The Ajman Transport Authority has announced that 746,046 taxi service requests were recorded during the first half of 2026, of which 95.29% were submitted through digital channels compared to 4.71% through the Booking and Dispatch Centre—an indicator reflecting the growing reliance of customers on digital channels for requesting taxi services.
Requests submitted through digital channels through Uber, Careem, Ajman One, and Yango totalled 710,905 during the first half of 2026, compared to 554,414 during the same period last year, representing a growth rate of 28%. This reflects the increased uptake of digital services and the growing dependence on them for requesting taxi services.
The number of taxi requests submitted through the Authority’s Booking and Dispatch Centre reached 35,141 during the first half of 2026, compared to 28,835 during the same period last year—a growth rate of 220%.
Ms Rasha Khalaf Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Support Services Authority, affirmed that the notable growth in the use of digital channels reflects the impact of digital transformation in enhancing the customer experience and facilitating access to taxi services. She noted that the Authority continues to develop digital solutions that contribute to simplifying procedures and raising the efficiency of services provided.
She added that the Authority is working to enhance the integration of service request channels, providing customers with multiple, easy, and fast options—supporting the Authority’s directions towards delivering smart and flexible services that keep pace with the needs of the public.
