The “Future Trader” event was launched in Ajman, running over two days at Musheiref Market as part of Entrepreneurship Week activities, with the participation of 20 children.

The Ajman Department of Economic Development, organiser of the event, stated that the activity — held in conjunction with UAE Children’s Day — aims to instil entrepreneurship concepts in children and enhance their early participation in the economic process through an innovative, educational and interactive approach.

The Department added that the event stems from its commitment to supporting Emirati children and empowering them to acquire practical life skills that contribute to building their character and enhancing their economic awareness from an early age, in line with the State’s directions to prepare informed and qualified generations for the future.

The “Future Trader” initiative aims to introduce children to the fundamentals of buying and selling, and teach them trade concepts in a simplified manner appropriate to their age, alongside developing their skills in public communication, marketing, product handling, understanding the value of money, taking responsibility and decision-making.

The initiative also contributes to building self-confidence and self-reliance, and encourages children to think creatively and innovatively in presenting their products and managing their own retail outlets.

The Department affirmed, through this initiative, the importance of empowering children within the economic process — not merely as participants in a temporary event, but as promising contributors to building the economy of the future — by providing them with the opportunity to undergo a practical experience that simulates a real business environment, contributing to discovering their inclinations and talents and honing their capabilities from an early age.

The opening of the event was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Media Office of Ajman Government, and from “Ajman Economy”: Mohammed Al Kutbi, Director of Government Communication Office, Hussein Al Shehhi, Director of Commercial Protection Department, and Suleiman Al Dhaheri, Director of Administrative Services Department.
