Ajman Chamber Hosts Sustainability in the Industrial Sector Forum and Launches Eco Smart Industry Initiative
The Ajman Chamber organised the ‘Sustainability in the Industrial Sector’ forum to announce the launch of the first phase of the Eco Smart Industry initiative, and to spotlight best practices and expertise in consumption rationalisation, resource conservation, and recycling. The event reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to driving the industrial sector towards a sustainable and balanced future in line with environmental and economic developments and production growth.
The forum was attended by Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, and Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication at the Ajman Chamber, along with owners and officials from more than 20 factories operating in the Emirate.
Mariam Al Nuaimi, Initiative Manager and Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the Ajman Chamber, delivered a comprehensive presentation on how factories can participate in the Eco Smart Industry initiative, outlining the registration and enrolment steps for the first phase, the environmental readiness assessment criteria, and the daily interactive tools the initiative provides for measuring sustainability capabilities, energy rationalisation, and resource conservation.
She added that the initiative serves as an interactive platform for showcasing best practices in industrial sustainability, gathering constructive proposals, and facilitating the exchange of expertise among participating facilities, thereby contributing to the development of innovative and applicable solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement towards greater efficiency and sustainability.
The forum witnessed the official launch of the Eco Smart Industry initiative and the commencement of factory registration and participation in the first phase, reflecting the positive engagement from the industrial sector and its readiness to adopt more efficient and sustainable production practices.
Owners and officials of participating factories presented a range of successful experiences and practices in the areas of energy efficiency, resource management, and emissions reduction. The forum highlighted success stories of sustainable solutions that have contributed to improved operational performance and reduced costs.
